Thanks.

the tube filaments need to be heated, that is what the "neck glow" is, if the heater voltage is low, it will cause the picture to look washed out, and blurry, and will clean up if you crank down the brightness and contrast.

also, the guns in the tube, and just about everything else is power by a voltage source called "B+"

I don't know the "exact" specs, as you will need to find a schematic, and/or look up the tube part # to determine the heater voltage, normall there is a large resister on the neck board that is used to provided power to the heater.

if your not familier with servicing monitors, i recommend having someone look at, if you have a picture, and its not makeing any 'crackling' sounds, or the after being on doing eractic things, i doubt its the FBT.

I have never worked on a Sanwa 29E31S before, so I am not sure exactly where to look, or what to test.

Yes, it's a good idea to contact with technical service of monitors. Unfortunately in my country i don't know where can i go, and most of these services are still in hollidays.

The system don't do crackling sounds (a little bit when power off) neither eratic things :S

Thanks for your advises.

Hmm.. I have a Sanwa 29E31S as well, and it also has poor focus (somewhat blurry picture). Geometry is fine, though.. I guess I will PM grantspain as well :-)

Some Sanwa 29E31S just have a slightly blurry screen and nothing can be done about it. Probably a batch with lower quality tubes?

Yeah, could very well be. It is the monitor in my Afterburner Climax cab. Not a very big deal; the game is way too fast to notice any bluriness anyway :-)

You can contact Anpetronic at +34933396016, they have the Flyback for the Sanwa 29" CRT, and also have Technical Service on Monitors.

They are located on Barcelona.

You can ask for Jose Manuel or Pep.
