It has occured to me that the electronics behind all of this may be way over my head.
My original thought was to locate and purchase a cabinet (either Net City or Universal.)
Then, I planned to locate and purchase a Naomi 2 GD rom set up, so I could play as many games as possible.
However, it appears as though I would probably have major difficulty with connecting everything to the cabinet, to get it all up and running.
So, would it be easier to simply buy a machine with everything already connected and ready to go?
If so, where can I look for one (aside from ebay)?
It certainly seems as though the folks here from Europe have an easier time locating the machines than those in the US, so I'm curious as to how the US owners have assembled their game rooms/cabinets.
I know absolutely nothing about voltage, monitor chassis, power amps, etc, and the thought of assembling this is nerveracking.
Thanks for your advice.
Steve
Final advice needed (for now) ;)
Well, a Naomi Universal Cab will fit a Naomi 2 GD-Rom setup fine, since that cab is made specifically to the JVS standard that the Naomi uses
It is a marriage made in heaven :smt005.
So, to save the trouble, buy yourself a complete Naomi Universal including the Naomi + GDRom. Or buy just the cab and slap a Naomi in (be sure the cab has not been modified to another standard (like JAMMA for example).

I'm sorry I don't remember for sure but didn't you say you have a NeoGeo Cab? You could get a setup with a Capcom JAMMA I/O mod your panel and add 2 buttons per player. :smt020
I do.
I have the huge 6-slot dedicated MVS cabinet.
I also have a Killer Instinct JAMMA cabinet.
Thing is, I really wanted to be able to play those games that require the special control panels (baseball, golf, etc), and that becomes near impossible with those cabinets.
The US Naomi cabinets have a metal/wooden panel with a cut out for the JAP CP's I have a gutted Naomi, and your welcome to the top part of the CP which you could fit into the KI Cab, as i would say its about the same size, if you pay shipping then your welcome to it, before I trash the cabinet, as no takers on it

You wouldn't have to mod the panel so if you wanted to play things like Guilty Gear or Marvel Vs Capcom 2 you'd be all set. Just a suggestion. Good luck :smt020
The problem is, I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to connect it in my KI cabinet, even temporarily.
I don't know if the current electronics of the cabinet would support the Naomi/2/GD rom system.
That and...I don't have the Naomi setup yet anyway.
