The bezel drilled with a 3/4" bit and the LED Sensors mounted from the back by drilling thru 2 small machine screws thru the front and putting a nut on the back side.

Image

The Gun I/O mounted behind the coin door connects to the guns/sensors and the JVS I/O via the analogue harness

JVS I/O mounted where the Blast City I/O was..

Its not complete obviously I need a better control panel..and I need a marquee (service door is on order)....but I picked this cab up completely gutted of wiring etc....so I had to put the whole damn setup in there..

whatcha guys think??

N80G80, I think you work a whole lot quicker than I do :D

I have similar plans for Mounting the guns and holster to CP.

I started the post and am at like step 4 of 10

You are at like step 9 of 10

Hoping to wire up my bezel tonight and it is already predrilled.

RGP, Your cab was definitely my inspiration for getting this going. :smt023

I bet the hardest part was drilling the holes for the sensors.

Catching up with N80G80 although he works FAST :smt016

I'm still playing Confidential Mission with my hacked up Analog panel :smt011

With a couple of extra super special looms I can now play Confidential Mission with My analog Panel. :smt020

Confidential Mission is a blast. Wish I discovered shooters earlier. :smt070

BTW, make sure you go to the bathroom before you start to complete the entire mission :smt018

I was doing the pee-pee dance in the middle of fighting the snow mobiles. :smt026

Anyway making progress. :smt020

Bezel wired w/ IR sensor Array IR all sensors mounted :D

I bet it feels strange though playing a gun game sitting down?

If you gun shells are looking old & worn Sega sell them fairly cheap.

Well,

Everything is all wired up and functional. :smt041 :smt071

Need to figure out where I am going to mount the gun I/O board and how to run the wiring :smt017

Need to figure out where I am going to mount the guns :smt017

Need to make some custom looms that interface directly with the tyco JPM looms. :smt119

(looks like a simple task now that I know how to connect all the wiring)

1) Power to gun I/O pulled from Japanese wiring looms and spliced into US MOLEX loom

2) IR Sensor array strait forward and direct connect to GUN I/O

3) Guns harnesses direct connect to gun I/O board

4) Trigger and Screen Off daisy chianed to buttons 2 & 3 on exisiting control panel for now.

5) Using Start Buttons from existing control panel for now

6) Gun X/Y strait to JVS I/O 26 pin analog I/O for now

The thing that looks like a NAOMI 2 MB is my HOTD2 stack :smt041

(Inside is legacy NAOMI 1 MB, HOTD2 Cart, and cover from VF4)

Running MOTK and CM from the NAOMI 2, GDROM and DIMM inside the machine :smt071

Crimson OX on the way :smt026

Here is picture of my functional mess. Looks like a snakepit but everything is wired and working :smt023

Would like to get some Pharoh Gun Shells and a MOTK Marquee to match the orange/yellow cabinet.

Blue and Red shells don't match that well.

I think some nice yellow Pharoh gun shells and a MOTK Marquee wouuld look the BOMB with existing cabinet color

RGP, Thanks for the idea on doing this in the first place

Mick, Thanks for the deal on the GUN I/O and sensor array

Justin, Thanks for all the harnesses and the deal on the HOTD2 w/ cover

Geezer, Thanks for the deal on the MOTK and the Bezel.

Kevin, Thank for the deal on Crimson OX

EVERYONE, thanks for all the tech support :D

Could not have pulled this off w/o the help of everyone here.

Once I get it cleaned up I'll post more pics

Thanks Again Everyone

Starting to look like a 'real' cabinet again

1) Reinstalled the coinbox

2) Removed the coin mechs to make some room

3) Mounted Gun I/O board in coin box

4) Routed all the wiring down to coin box and cleaned it up

5) The Trigger and Screen out are still daisy chained to my control panel buttons

Everything is alot cleaner and functional

For now I just open the coin door and plug in gun(s) to the harness to play

Image

To Do

1) Remove DBA cover and make insert to mount guns harness mounts too

2) Rewire the 26 pin JVS connector so that it plugs into my JVS Analog Loom

3) Make insert daisy chain harness to plug into my JVS digital loom so that I can run my control panel and gun I/O at the same time

4) I may even add some military style bayonet connectors to the DBA panel so that I can remove the guns and gun cable when not in use.

On my other NAOMI cabinet I think...

1) the coin box is going back in (so the cabinets match)

2) the coin mechs getting removed

3) I'm going to install a small EEE Box compter

http://www.asus.com/news_show.aspx?id=11854

4) I'm going to install invzim's JVS-USB conveter (S/N #1 :D )

5) I'm gonna run MAME and Visual Pinball along side my NAOMI
