Ikaruga Upside Down

Post by OldFoo »

Hello everyone!

I just got an Ikaruga kit and hooked it up to an old sit-down cocktail cabinet. Everything is working fine, but the video is upside down. I checked the game settings and couldn't find any screen flip options. We tried removing the monitor and putting it back in upside down, but it JUST fits the way it came, and won't fit upside down due to the coin box. All the other games I have use dip switches or in-game settings, but I couldn't find any with this one. Does anybody know if there is any way to flip the video output?

Thank you!

depending on what monitor you have depends on how this can be done,if you can supply a photo of the monitor chassis(circuit board) then i can tell you if its a case of moving one or two plugs or if you need to cut and join wires

should'nt flipping the two wires of the vertical deflection be enough?

I don't have this game, but most vertical type games have an option to 'flip' the screen for just this type of problem. Doesn't this game have this option as well?

Nope, all Japanese cabs made in the last 20 years or so only really rotate counter clockwise for tate play, hence this only plays in this orientation. You need to do THIS.

Thanks for the information, I'll try rewiring the monitor when I get a chance. Hopefully I don't mess up!! Really appreciate the assistance!
