Two nights ago, I powered up my Triforce for the first time.
Worked great, played a few games of Virtua Striker 2002 (by the way, does anyone have any English gameplay instructions or a manual?)
Powered down when I was done.
Last night, I powered up the cabinet, and the power worked fine, but on screen, the message said, "Error 24 - GDrom not found".
Now I didn't touch ANYTHING between Sunday night when I played, and last night, so I don't know what could have happened.
I disconnected the SCSI cable, and reconnected. Opened the GDrom drive and removed the disc, put it back in, and screwed on the lid.
I powered up again, and got the same thing.
Checked all of the connections, and everything is fine in that respect.
Ran a test, and the DIMM checked out okay, but the GDrom said, "BAD".
However, the drive was spinning, because I could feel it.
Can anyone give some insight here? I don't know why it worked perfectly the night before (first time I played it), and last night I get an error, despite changing/touching nothing.
If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Steve
Triforce error 24 - help needed
Error 24 is purely GD-ROM drive related.

Might be time to find out what GD-ROM unit type you have, and buy a replacement lens/motor unit from ole geez

Is it possible to work the first time I used it, and to then not work anymore the next time I turn it on?

Yep sadly so, used GD-ROM drives are very unpredictable.
