wouaa you are totally right STV !

With the right cable, I have now the error 25 and the gd drive is a bit noisy but it seems that the gd rom does not spin.

Could the gd drive be damaged with the wrong cable (12V and 5V for the pins which were supposed to be non connected) ?

Any more idea ? Thanks a lot !

Probably fooked now, as +12V went down a +5V line.

Do you need a cable to run the GD-ROM from the Sun PSU? I can supply one, along with a new GD assembly as well if needed.

If it is the old GD-ROM drive type

610-0617, then a new complete lens unit will fix the problem :)

I've put +12V in the +5v before, and then swapped the whole unit from a lens unit I sell. :)

If it is a 610-0617-01 then I am afraid it is bin fodder.

Thanks!! Yes the older GD-ROM drives are worth a lot more than the new ones, as you can keep fixing.
