Does Naomi use another jamma pinout than standard?

Hi again!



I've just 'dedicated' one of my cabs to use Naomi as well as

STV, so I have two different 'wood plates' with the hardware

on.



The problem is, when I have the Naomi in the cabinet, everything

works great, except the coin input. With the ST-V installed it works.

So I'm thinking that maybe the Naomi uses a slightly different jamma?

It seems the Naomi has coin input on the service or test button?

Which version? Jamma or JVS? I would assume Jamma 'A' because I think this one has a problem with coining up in some instances. Does the cab have one or two coinslots?



Hopefully this information will be able to help someone narrow it down for you, also if you search around the tech forum, you might find someone that has dealt with the same issue.

Does your cabinet have a coin counter? Some Sega I/O units won't coin up unless there's a coin counter or a resistor hooked up. More info available in this topic:

romshark, okay, so I just need to add the coin counter to the usual

jamma coin counter signal and +5V(with the 100k ohm resistor on

the +5V line)



Just checked, I have several counters lying around, but they're

12V.....

Either the coin counter or the resistor. You don't need both at the same time.

If you have a 12V counter, you can probably hook up the counter to the +12V line and the counter pin. (Just like 5V counters are on +5V and counter pin) I'm not completely sure, though.

ok, just a 100k resistor between +5V and coin input. I take it I could

do this directly on the I/O itself? Just running a wire with the resistor

on it from the +5V on the jamma connector on the I/O to the coin input

on the jamma connector..



To sum up, let's say from pin 3 to pin 16?

Wait a minute.

You need it to the coin meter pin, not the coin input pin. Betweeen pin 3 and 8 would be right. Also between pin 3 and J if you plan to use the coin input for player 2 also.

I only have one coin slot, so I'll solder it on tomorrow(if I can

find a 100k resistor)
