2 Naomi Uni questions

1. I dont have a Naomi board in the cab but when turn it on everything works and I can run a Xbox 360 through the monitor it looks fine. But I noticed while cleaning up the cab that the fan in the power supply doesnt spin. Should I replace the whole thing?



2. The RCAs on the sound amp are messed up. I noticed that the sound was really low even when adjusting the volume pot under the CP. I fiddled with the rca cables going into the sound amp and the speakers got loud and would go in and out. I had to wedge a peice of paper folder up in between the 2 connects to get both sides to work at proper volume. Bad solder joints? Anyone had this problem before?

1. First turn the supply on and check your still getting all the power supply you need(if cab is still working i assume so) So hopefully its just your fan thats fooked as mine was last week.

Without the fan the heat will build up and kill your PSU :smt010

Thanks guys. I have a ton of pc power supplys laying around in my office. So a fan from one of those should work? Is there any thing I should know before opening up the naomi psu?

yeah make sure the powers off :smt005 No joking apart its pretty straight forward and easy to disconnect the fan just keep the connectors as you may have to transfer them onto the wires of the replacement, just makes it a bit easier just like for like really.

Thanks guys. I desoldered and resoldered the rca phono amps and now the sound is full super loud stereo. I also took apart the psu and threw in a new fan and that worked also. Both problems solved.
