I posted here a little while ago about a couple of issues with my NAOMI 1. I managed to figure out where one of the problems was coming from, but that really doesn't help resolve much, so I have a couple more questions:
Setup:
Naomi1 with Export BIOS and JP Capcom I/O
1.) In Sound Test mode, the right speaker doesn't emit a sound, and the left one's volume fluctuates a lot over time during gameplay...sometimes the sound will be fine, other times it will go way too loud or cut out entirely. After disconnecting the RCA jacks from the IO and plugging them directly into an external set of speakers, the same symptoms occur which means the issue is inside the NAOMI board itself. The person who sold me the system seems to think it could be a bad power supply. He said, and I quote: "Just hook it up to a normal PC power supply and see if that fixes your problem"....
For some reason I'm not sure if that's even safe to do with a NAOMI much less whether it will solve my problem or not.
2.) I have a GGX cartridge that I tried to boot up and receive an ERROR 01 "This game not acceptable by main board". I know there were compat issues between certain NAOMI boards and GGX and Project Justice, but I assumed since I have a JP Capcom IO I should be fine... could it be an incompatibility with the Export BIOS or did I buy a bad cart?
Naomi 1 Noob questions (ERR 01, sound)
All that being said, you either have a major board problem, or your power supply is not within specifications (too little/too much power). Check your power first while the system is running. The three power levels should be around 12v, 5v and 3.3v. Adjust your psu to be as near to these levels as possible. If this doesn't fix your problem, then it's probably the Naomi.

Yeah, assumed as much. Thanks for the quick reply.
Where do I check these values (noob remember)...
Off of the JAMMA harness?
Also, that comment the person who sold me the board and cab made about the PC power supply used to power a NAOMI...is that actually possible/safe?
Just to add somthing, i have had a few Error 01 not compatible with main board, and my problem was i didnt push the cart in properly, i am far too light handed with my carts and mobo, and frequently dont pudh then in enough, and when i dont i get the Error01.
Just thought i would add my expeirience of that Error :smt006

Yes, but it requires building an adapter to connect the two together. More information can be found at:
