gd rom set up help please

right got a gd rom and a dimm board all wiring and just updated the bios to support it.



pluged in ic chip in to dimm connected it all up for power with my capcom i/o installed cd/dvd in the drive and put the cover on no screw to fit to it now i power up and just get a black screen



help please.

I think that is a voltage problem.

There is an search function, it's better to use it rather post a new topic.

will try adjusting the voltage but i dont get a error message i dont even get a gd rom logo.



the gd rom is compatible with the capcom i/o?



works fine with carts just when i add the dimm board and gd rom



get blank screen

right have tryed adjusting the voltage through jamma supply get nothing at all second dimm is put in just black screen no logos nothing.



removed dimm put in a cart plays fine.

If your cab's PSU are not much more powerfull for naomi mobo and gd rom, I can ajust what you want it will not work.

Power your naomi system with an ATX psu

Try also connecting the Dimm board alone with no GD-ROM to see if it boots...you may have a dead one.

done the dimm test nothing shows on screen will contact andy @ sega shead as he supplyed the dimm.



was what i was thinking about it being a issue with the dimm



new to naomi stuff more of a 1000 in 1 person but its a intresting learning curve.

Capcom I/O is not powerful enough to power a DIMM/GD-ROM Setup.



I recommend only using a SUN PSU or similar to power a GD-ROM Setup, as you can alter the +5V.



ATX PSU have not regulators and can cause all sorts of problems as the voltage on load is around 4.96 which it ideally needs to be around 5.2 on load.
