Lenny I think that there no way to repair this issue without replacing components.

For my own, I am ready to try replacing some components

Have you an idea ?
yeah i reckon you have a vertical collapse, now if you do not have bad solder joints on the chassis and the vert height pot is fine then you need to look at the vert deflection ic and its immediate circuit

U401 is the vertical deflection ic and i would check out any caps near that also measure the diodes

just a handy tip if you can't get one of these chassis fixed, the rodotron 666a tri sync chassis fits on the sanwa 29es31s reallly well and the picture in 31khz is excellent,15khz works just fine also but with the most minor side compression

I have manual service for 29E31S chassis. According to you I have to change components D401, D407, D410, D425, D426, D813, D814, D815.

It's ok ?

I try to read schema at the end of the manual. But resolution is too bad so it's very hard to read.

If somebody have this document in high resolution, it will be very nice if he could send it me :) .
it will be just one diode leaky, all the schems are really bad and impossible to read-if i get a chance on tuesday i will tell you which diode it is most likely to be

Thanks for this advice grantspain but my naomi cabinet is an driving uprigth one so there is useless to fit an tri sync chassis and the second chassis (ms9) is fitted in my new astro city where I don't use 31 kHz resolution. Nevertheless I use an ms8 chassis on my new astro but I preferred to use the ms9 instead of the ms8.

So if I can't fix my chassis I have to play with :

an naomi cabinet with an distorted image

an ms8 chassis on my new astro

So I would like to fix this two chassis ;)

sorry for the wait but i had a crazy week of crap to deal with,

ok i reckon you should look at D401,it looks like a transistor bolted near the flyback-if this has gone leaky then it would cause that problem

No problem grantspain, it's already very nice to you to give me an answer.

Saterday i am going to see if I find the D401 on my chassis (this component is on the flyback card, that's rigth ?).

If i find it I will try to buy an component in order to replace the faulty one.

well its not 100% the problem but is the most likely culprit
