BIOS Advice MvC2

Post by OldFoo »

Hi! First post in here but sure it aint gonna be my last... Yesterday I purchased a NAOMI cabinet, been looking for a while and one came up. I'm a total green horns to it all but looking forward to getting my hands dirty, I've had a copy of Guilty Gear XX# Reload for a while and been itching to give it a spin.

Anyho, the cab doesnt have a GD Rom in it so I wont be playing GG anytime soon, had the option of buying one afor ?155 but at the moment I wasnt so sure if that was a good price, more research and funds needed. I did buy a Marvel V Capcom 2 board though, its a Japanese Board and was just wondering if I can plug it straight into my cab... I know this is probably a very ambigious question as at the I dont have teh cab (he will only release once paypal funds have moved to his bank). The Cab is UK Virtua Striker 2 2000, I understand I have some buttons to add etc but was just wondering if I will need to change the bios to play MvC2... I looked at the Rom compatibility list and it says US/JP/EXP but I aint to sure what this means.

Thanks
OldFoo

MVC2 isn't region locked, meaning it will work in any region.

Is Guilty Gear XX #reload region locked?

I believe it is. Take a look at the security chip. When there is a 'J' at the end of the IC number, it usually Japanese only.

Yep. BIOS can be swapped for a different one. Segashed has them in stock:
