Need Help with a universal Cab & Naomi Set-up
I finally just got a naomi universal cabinet today that had the naomi system tooken out. I put in my naomi 2 system with gd rom and hooked everything up. Heres the problem. I take it that the universal cab monitor is a vga monitor. When I turn it on everything boots up and I see the naomi logo and everything, but towards the end while botting up, I get a i/o board is not connect to naomi. Do I still need this i/o board in there? There is no jamma harness in the cabinet to plug it into.
Yes I have the regular Naomi I/O board, not the Capcom one. I thought I tried that also. I had a power harness running to the I/O board and the usb running from the I/O to the Naomi System. I will have to double check everything tomorrow. Thanks for the help. I thought it might have been a setting I needed to change or something. I didn't think I still needed the I/O board in this cabinet.
Sorry I just added a few items last night. Here is the page

That is quite a mess, my friend. It's difficult to tell what's going on, but it looks like you have the Jamma JVS I/O. For the sake of testing the system, you don't need the Jamma harness as it will still boot if everything else is connected properly. There are at least 2 power connectors: one for the I/O and one for the GD drive. The problem is, the connectors look exactly the same and yet they are wired differently. One should be shorter and is connected to the I/O. Make sure that you do accidentally switch these connectors or you will burn out either or both parts.
