Identifying DIMM for VFFT

Post by novarcade »

First post, and I'm trying to figure this out. I just purchased a Naomi 2 board. I also have 2 GD rom setups with regular naomis. I'm well aware of the bios for the main board needing to be updated. I've been reading for VFFT I need a certain DIMM board. How would I identify if I had a compatible version? Thanks.

There are 2 physical types of DIMM boards. One has a network port, the other does not. You need the type with the network port. Although they tend to have varying software revisions, you need the final version v3.17. Any of the network versions can be updated, but you need the upgrade disc and VFFT security chip to do so. :smt020

Awesome, the one I've got in my Universal has a network jack and a serial port of some kind (db9?). How can I check what version it is? Is there some readout in the test menu?

In the test menu, you will find an menu entry in order to test the dimm board.

In this sub menu, you will be able to find the revision of your dimm board

Probably Andy (Segashed) or Craig (giz10p.co.uk) can update your dimm for you i believe.
