Naomi 2 Error 34 Gateway cannot be found

Post by OldFoo »

Hello everyone. I just got my Naomi 2 and GD-rom setup and I'm excited to try it out. I hook everything up and turn it on and I get a Error 34 Gateway cannot be found. I went into test menu and ran a test for the 3.17 net dimm and it tested all o.k. I tried google and came up with nothing about this error message and its not in the GD-rom manual so I'm unsure what to do next. Oh and I also set the network in the Dimm to off thinking that may have had something to do with it and I still get the same error. Any suggestions????

Previous owner was a net booter!

You'll need to take of the silver metal and alter the jumpers

First two jumpers closest to the SCSI connector should be

2-3

last one should be 1-2

so it looks like this

Thank you very much. I'm new to the GD-rom setup obviously and appreciate your help. What does it mean to be a net booter? And what different options do I have for the 3.17 net dimm? Is it used to post high scores online? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new and can't find anything on this. Thanks again

Another way to fix this problem would be to turn off the network portion in the test menu. The Naomi would also boot faster.

O.k now I know it recognises the GD-rom but now I keep getting error 24 GD-rom not found. Is there something else I'm missing or is maybe my GD-rom Fou-barred? Would you hear the laser reading the disc? I can hear the fans going but I don't think I hear the laser reading the disc like you would in an xbox or Dreamcast or whatever. Any thoughts on how to diagnose or repair? :)
