Need help HouseoftheDead2 Usb Board

Post by OldFoo »

Hello,

i have a HouseoftheDead2 from a old crappy cab. The first , the PSU dont work. i use a ATX PSU now.

My Problem, i have all removed from the cab. The monitor dont work and many other things.

My first run with ATX Mainboard and PC Monitor works great. I see the game.

Then i try to reconnect the hairness to the rest of the parts.

on first run, the naomi shows the guns at the service menu, it goes from 00toff and in and out works else.

but no trigger works, and i have no start button.

I connect more things on hairness , and the start button works, but now , no guns? i try a little and now it works nothing. The naomi dont make a reaction on buttons or the guns.

i see, there are to led on the usb board (SDC-I) but only the LED1 work. LED2 are dark. I try a little, and i see, the light from LED2 works a little moment, if i power down the PSU.

Have anybody a idee or a pinout from the SDC-I Board...

You should probably not be trying stuff :smt018 , but first take a look at the wiring diagram. The manual for both the UR and the DLX are on segaarcade.com.

UR manual: http://www.segaarcade.com/pdfs/hod2/hod2-ur-manual.pdf

The wiring schematics are on the last few pages of the manual.

Hello,

this is the board 837-13551 , but i dont know what?s wrong , LED 1 light if power on the psu. LED 2 only a short moment at power on or power off.

But, i only found 5v connectors at the manual. the connector cn1 have 2 pins 12v and 2 pins gnd, i have checked it from the old psu.

It probably was a Deluxe version of the game. The wiring diagram for the Deluxe does specify the +12V:

Oh, do not worry about the LED, afaik. My board also has 1 LED on when running (red).

Just take it one step at a time. First check basic input and output using the Naomi test menu. Start buttons, that kind of stuff. Since the guns rely on the gun sense PCB, that is a little harder to troubleshoot.

To be clear: what works, and what does not work currently?

Does the Naomi recognize the I/O? You can check the JVS I/O status in the Naomi test menu.

Just checked on my Naomi; it is called JVS TEST. It is in the main menu. My menu displays: RAM TEST - JVS TEST - SOUND TEST - CRT TEST - SYSTEM ASSIGNMENTS - etc..

If JVS TEST is not displayed, I suspect the Naomi does not recognize the I/O properly? Selecting JVS TEST displays information about the connected I/O.
