Hello,
I have a Sanwa PFX monitor which I bought a couple of weeks ago. It was in perfect condition and worked fine until yesterday. I was trying to play Zombie Revenge via netboot and just before it loaded my Sanwa monitor displayed a "out of range" message. I suppose this means some frequency other than 15, 24 or 31kHz was input into the monitor. Is that actually possible when the signal is coming from a naomi at 31kHz?
The game finally displayed on screen, I started to play it and it suddenly crashed(due to protection I suppose). The screen froze and all sorts of strange graphics appeared on the screen. I turned my cabinet off and on again and all I got is a vertical white line down the center of the screen.
When I turned the monitor on before this happened it used to make a clicking noise three times while trying to sync at the right freq. , it doesn't do it anymore. No image on screen (not even the "no signal" message) only the white vertical line. If you press the function button for the on screen menu nothing happens.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it easily repairable? What could have caused the problem?
I was thinking maybe when the game crashed the Naomi could have output a different video freq. damaging the monitor. Is that possible?
I heard of some pentranic monitors breaking due to wrong frequency input?
Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.
