I just picked up an Outtrigger setup with the CP, but the trackball does not work. It only moves up and down, not left and right. I tried a trackball from my Virtua Golf CP and that worked fine. It looks brand new, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Does anyone have any idea on what to check? If it's toast, where can I get an official Sega trackball other than buying a Virtua Golf CP for one? Lastly, is there a way to invert the controls? Everytime I want to look up I look down :smt013
I guess old habits die hard.
Outtrigger CP Issues
Here's a cross section layout of a typical trackball interior:

There should be 2 encoders: 1 for X (Left and Right), 1 for Y (Up and Down).
One of them is either not connected, or malfunctioning. For each wheel sensor,
there are 3 wires: 1 for 5v, 1 for ground, 1 for sense (digital click). Check these
wires with a meter. Pin configuration for these sensors tend to vary, but in general,
pins 1 and 3 are 5v and ground while the middle is the sense. :smt024
BTW, if it has more than 3 pins, each wheel may have a dual sensor. :smt036
