I've been thinking about picking one of these panels up... just curious about this whole card business.
I understand there are two kinds of card mechs, one is the automated/dispenser type used in sit-down driving cabs like inital-d.
The other is the kind that is mounted to the 1p net city control panel.
Does anyone have good photos of this, or can give insight into how it works in relation to Virtual Fighter 4: FT?
Also, where do you get the cards from to use with it, and can they be erased and re-used later on?
I know the dispenser type actually prints something onto the cards itself. (At least on the InitialD machine I played on) However I don't really know anything about the net-city panel.
Any info would be great :)
Thanks!

can we erase data on a virtua fighter memory card
to put in initial-d and make a save ?
can we make many file-save of a game on 1 memory card
(like save many custom player on VF4.FT)
(i think memory card need a tutorial maybe, wirh picture)

The cards used in this case are magnetic and store information like a credit card or door pass. The cards are used in arcades and are not supposed to be used like a Dreamcast or PS2 memory card, so it will only hold information for one game only.
From what I understand, the card has a certain amount of life usage. For example, when an Initial D memory card is used a certain amount of times, the machine will say it needs to be replaced. The game actually keeps track of number of times used (I forget number of max uses). The game then transfers the information to a new card.
Can it be erased and reused? I haven't tried. Perhaps someone reading this forum will have information about this. It could be that the cards are formatted or imprinted with information so that it can only be used in the game which shows on the card. If that's the case, you cannot use the card from Initial D in Virtua Fighter and vice versa. Also, if that's the case, erasing the card means erasing the formatted information, making the card useless.
As requested, here is are photos of the control panel:

Yea, I think I'm gonna grab it, like I said I just need to wait until Nov 30th to have money to buy it :)
If I'm gonna pick it up though I'm going to want some cards to use with it...
I'm thinking about dismounting the card reader from it and hooking it up to my VF4 setup with the 2player panel... not sure how I'm going to approach that yet though. (Perhaps do a bit of custom fab to get it mouted in the rectangles in the front of the cab, between the speakers... we'll see :)
