but why make a card life short ? why ? wwwhhhyyyyy ????
i don't understand,.... if we play every day, but in case of
initial-D, i do a race, i save, ok, after i go out of the cab
because new players want play, and i want seen, after i play another
time...
i can use the card 2 or 3 (or more) time by day...
300 days by year
1000 / 50 = 20
in one year, it's about 20 (or more) need of memory card...
very strange...

Because the cards are quite expensive for the player.
When I was in the US, Initial-D cards were $1 each, then with $1 each game.
So of course it makes sense to force players to replace them frequently, as it would generate them more money

Yea, I think I'm gonna grab it, like I said I just need to wait until Nov 30th to have money to buy it
If I'm gonna pick it up though I'm going to want some cards to use with it...
I'm thinking about dismounting the card reader from it and hooking it up to my VF4 setup with the 2player panel... not sure how I'm going to approach that yet though. (Perhaps do a bit of custom fab to get it mouted in the rectangles in the front of the cab, between the speakers... we'll see
well if you buy it its yours to do what you want with. But it would be shame to dismantle a mint 1p panel. It would go lovely on a vert naomi running ikaruga or something.
Another reason to limit life per card is to keep the automatic dispenser unit from getting too dirty too quickly. They sell 'cleaner cards' just for this purpose. After a certain amount of uses, the game shows a 'clean reader' type message and will not continue until it's cleaned, or the card unit is turned off.
Cards are normally sold in boxes of 200 and are around $200 per box. A good source for smaller amounts of cards would be USC. He sells 6 cards for $24. Card sets can be purchased from places like Beston Enterprises. They actually have boxes of 200 for $160 (for Initial D). CoinopExpress shows the VF4:FT cards on their site, but price shows up as 'to be announced'. :smt019
