Applying Dreamcast controllers to the NAOMI??

Post by OldFoo »

Hi everyone,

I was recently given a NAOMI 1 and wanted to know if this could be used out of a cabinet? Was curious about the adapters for the MAPLE BUS and if this would work on the system. I have a spare Dreamcast and needed to know if this would actually work. This pic is just an example and thought id check here to ask anyone who has done or is using the same rig also if this can even be applicable to non driving and gun titles? Any help would be greatly appreaciated

Well I have the Virtua Tennis (Power Smash) no GDrom. Is limitation due to the hardware or titles themselves?

RGP,

What "wires" connect to the Impress panel. I picked up a panel and it has the circuit board, but no wires are hooked to it. In addition where would the other end of the wiring loom plug into in the cab? I'm assuming it's something I will need to buy, so if you know where I can source one, that would be great.

Thanks!

It plugs into CN6, 7, the wires afaik were made only for the panel, only a few Capcom games work with it, theres a option that needs to be turned on in the game bios.

So, if I have the panel but not the harness, am I totally screwed?

Yeah pretty much, how else would you connect it?

Damn - that pretty much says it all, you have a way with words RGP. Does anyone want a Capcom Impress panel that's pretty much useless as tits on a bull?

Realistically how much would you use the feature anyway? still looks a nice panel.

Theres must a way of modding the pad, I just checked one of my leads & its different to the other one (looks like a DC pad lead) so I guess the plug on the inside of the DC pad goes into the circuit board on the pannel & you just need to mod the other end from controller port to CN connector, I'll add some pics ina bit :)
