Does anyone have a pinout for the Naomi's D-sub connector on the filter board? I know where the red, green, and blue go, but do you need both vertical and horizontal sync or can you use a composite sync and put a jumper between the two? Also do you have to have all the grounds in place?
Thanks
Naomi D-sub Pinout?
It's a JVS cab, however the monitor is not from the cab(its got the RGB and comp sync). So what would the dip switch accomplish?
I'm sorry if I am getting annoying by constantly asking about this, I am getting my Naomi setup and I want everything to go smoothly.
Sorry folks, I just realized that I am in fact retarded. The cable coming form the monitor had a comp sync so I just assumed that was the only way the monitor ran, but upon closer inspection of the pcb I noticed there is in fact a vertical sync spot, it just isn't hooked up. The problem as solved itself. Lets hope I don't catch anything on fire.

Simply put, RGB is for the standard (low resolution) monitor used in most arcade cabinets. The monitor you mentioned sounds like the standard type, so flipping the switch will set the Naomi to output to a standard monitor. In this case, it still uses the VGA cable, but only as a connection to the Sega jammo I/O. This I/O will output to the jamma harness to the type of connection on your monitor. :smt024

It's a cyberlead, so the connectors in it are all d-sub. I got it without a monitor, but the monitor I put in there is the same one, duel res MS9-29S, it was just out of and new astro so it doesn't have the d-sub connector. Upon closer inspection of the pcb, it has the spot for the vertical sync it's just not used on the astro because it is a jamma cab. Seeing as the cyberlead only has ten out of fifteen pins on the d-sub they could only be the rgb grounds and syncs. In other words, I think I have it figured out.
