Hello there! This is my first Topic/Post so please go easy on me!
I've just bought myself a Naomi board from Ebay which cost me 35 quid, along with an ATX power adaptor, all this will be running through either a jamma adaptor and/or my HD plasma TV with monitor input. The question that I have for you experts is, will I be needing a seperate controller for each individual game or, will one controller work for a number of games?
Thanks for all the help!
Sel.
New boy! Teas all round!
If you are not planning on putting this into a game cabinet, or making the controls yourself, the only way to go is to buy a supergun. This will have all the controls you will need. A word of warning though, this won't be cheap! :smt093

I am planning on buying a Jamma cabinet, because I'm also starting a Jamma collection, along with a Jamma/Naomi harness, this setup I'm asking about will sort of keep me going for the time being, Then I will buy a standalone Naomi Universal Cabinet, and bosh all my Naomi stuff in there.
Also another question mate, I've been offered a GD Rom Unit for 40quid, is this a good deal, what is the DIMM board that goes with it? (this GD Rom I've been offered had no DIMM Board).
Cheers for the help mate.

The DIMM board is used with the GD-ROM.
Basically the game is loaded from the GD onto the DIMM board. The DIMM also has a small slot for the security chip to go into (so you can't use pirated discs)
You need both bits & a SCSI cable to connect them, in order for it to work.
?40 sounds reasonable for a GD for a spare unit.

To use dreamcast controllers, You need the CAPCOM control panel, which as far as I know are as rare as rocking horse shit.
I don't think there is a way to directly connect DC controllers to the Mobo.
How big is the JAMMA cab you are wanting to buy?? I only ask,as if you are wanting to use Naomi control panels, you will have a job making it fit a standard 20" cab, the CP's are fooking huge.
CP's pop up on ebay occasionally, and sometimes you can get them in the sales section on here. Problem is, that you may have to source your sticks & buttons, which adds to the cost.
My suggestion, if you're going the JAMMA route, is to get a decent cab with 2 sticks & 6 buttons per player. Then try get hold of a CAPCOM JAMMA I/O, and a CAPCOM kick loom to wire in the other 3 buttons. This means you will also be plug'n'play for CPS2, as well as all standard (horizontal) JAMMA boards.

It is possible to connect Dreamcast controllers, but only a few Capcom games actually support this. So it's not worth it.sel wrote:Nice one fella, still wondering where I can buy a 2 player controller from though, I thought I reas somewhere that I can use Dreamcast controllers instead? Is this true?
