I just recently purchased a Naomi II to go with my Atomiswave SD cabinet. Having never used a Naomi (or any actual arcade board for that matter) I am trying to get as much information as possible before setting everything up.
So, any tips for connecting a Naomi II GD-Rom to an AWSD cab?
I currently have the following:
-Naomi II Motherboard
-Sega I/O converter (would the Capcom be preferable?)
-Dimm Board
-GD-rom drive
Will I need any additional equipment to get the Naomi II running on an AWSD, such as a PSU? Or is the AWSD PSU already fully sufficient?
Any information would be great.
AWSD Naomi 2 Setup
As long as the Sega I/O is jamma, it will work fine if the cab is JVS compliant as the cab will supply power. If not, getting the Capcom I/O will provide the Naomi with power while the Sega version will not. Other than that, it's just making sure there is proper support for buttons. Naomi will use 2-6 buttons depending on the game, so the button wiring must be kept in mind. :smt045

Thanks for the response.
I got everything working well for now aside from needing to add an additional connection for player 2 and the amp.
The only issue now is mounting. The motherboard should be easy enough to mount, however the GD-Rom drive seems a bit different. I read about a bracket that is used to attach the GD-Rom to the motherboard section, however it seems the kit I purchased does not have one...
Any suggestions for mounting the GD-Rom drive without the bracket? I imagine it wouldn't be too much of an issue to simply rest it on the bottom as long as I am not moving it...

I used a tiny piece of metal used to block the empty PCI slots on a PC. Works like a charm and is a hell of a lot easier finding than the original bracket (it also mounts as low as possible which is a great space saver)
Cut a piece (I used a few cm's) and make holes through it in both ends. Use a screw to mount it to the gd drive (it has holes for this, just use a screw big enough to grip the hole). Then just attach the gd drive where ever you want it.
Here's a pic of how I mounted my naomi in my AWSD's. Makes it really easy to move between my vertical and my horisontal AWSD.

So then having the GD-Rom drive mounted vertically is fine, right?
No need to have it right side up?
