however - fear not, the naomi motherboard top casing I made 2 holes for was from a broken N1 mobo I had stashed away, so the original casing for this particular kit is actually un-harmed :smt023

Mr.Megalo!

The Jamma I/O board that you have just need a bit of advice about it, I'm in the process of buying one and would like to know what cables you need to hook it up to the Naomi and get it working, cheers for any info mate!

I was wondering if anyone has used this one instead of the ATX? It kinda looks like an ATX, its for Golden Tee. LMK.

That psu looks ATX, but it's not. ATX psu's do not supply -5v and -12v. This psu looks to be rather specialized and, unless you plan on doing some re-wiring, would be risky to connect to the Naomi via adapter. I say, stick with an ATX psu; with that you can easily do better than 267 watts.

Did anyone ever figure out which molex connectors fit the naomi filter board? I'm still jonesing to make an adaptor for myself.

They're not molex, they're JST VL and are not easy to get in small numbers. I have a bunch of them but if you need a ATX to Naomi adapter I have a few in stock, check the market section.

Connectors are as follows...

Filterboard > I/O >>USB (Although it isn't a USB protocol system)

Non-Power connectors (i.e. the rows of pins) >> JST NH Connector

Power Connectors >> JST VLR-06V & VLR-08V

If you are wanting to make an ATX to Naomi PSU lead, you will need to get hold of JST VLP-06V and VLP-08V.

Could this be done for a Namco system 246 setup?

Yes, but System246 has it's own connector/adapter for connecting to JVS style connections of which you will need (if you don't already have it).

Thanks, My system 246 did not come with one. Any ideas where i could get one? I have looked all over the place and nothing! :smt009

The system is supposed to come with a jamma style adapter and a power 'dongle' adapter. If hooking up to a JVS system, you don't use the jamma connections and use the JVS USB type connection for the controls.

As for where can you get a replacement? I'm sorry, I don't know. I can only suggest that you try e-mailing places like www.coinopexpress.com. I just moved, so I don't have access to my Namco 246. Otherwise I would post a photo for your reference. :smt009
